Fixxr
The platform

Repair intelligence, end to end

Fixxr pairs an AI diagnostic and quote-analysis engine with a verified local repair marketplace: the platform figures out what’s wrong and what it should cost, then puts a real, bookable price from a vetted shop next to that answer. Education on one side, fulfillment on the other — that pairing is the product.

For drivers

Six capabilities, one answer

Every piece exists to answer the same question: what does my car actually need, and what should it cost?

AI Diagnostic Engine

Describe the problem, or capture a photo or short video, and the diagnostic engine returns ranked likely causes — each with its supporting evidence, an urgency read, and a typical cost range. It runs a hypothesize-then-verify loop: candidate failures are generated by frontier multimodal AI, then checked against the vehicle's actual build data before anything is shown.

Outputs a safe-to-drive verdict and prepared questions to ask the mechanic, so the driver walks in informed.

Quote Scanner

Snap a photo of any repair estimate and the scanner reads it line by line — parts, labor hours, shop fees — and benchmarks each against typical pricing for that repair. Instead of a single opaque score, drivers get a plain-English fairness read on every line.

Built to answer the single most stressful question in car repair: is this quote fair?

Repair Marketplace

Post the job once and a verified local shop responds with a real out-the-door price — not an estimate range, a bookable offer. Jobs are matched by real distance and shop capability, and the driver books, messages, and pays without phone tag.

Privacy-gated: shops see only the city and job details until the driver books.

Recall Checker & VIN Decoder

Live integration with the federal NHTSA databases: open safety recalls by vehicle, and a full 17-character VIN decode to the exact year, make, model, trim, engine, transmission, and build plant.

Free, no account required — recall repairs are free by law, so Fixxr never charges to check.

Maintenance Intelligence

Manufacturer-style service schedules tracked against the car's real mileage, with reminders before things go wrong — the cheapest repair is the one that never becomes a repair.

Every service booked through Fixxr lands in the vehicle's permanent history.

Repair Tracker & Garage

Booked, in progress, ready — the driver sees exactly where the repair is, messages the shop in-app, and keeps every vehicle's records in one garage across repairs.

Reviews are collected only from drivers who actually completed a repair.

Under the hood

How the AI actually works

The diagnostic engine is a hypothesize-then-verify pipeline. Frontier multimodal AI (Google’s Gemini models) reads the driver’s description, photos, or video and generates candidate failures. Each hypothesis is then checked against the vehicle’s real build — decoded from the VIN and our 80,000-configuration vehicle database — and against federal NHTSA recall and specification data, so a known-defective part on that exact vehicle outranks a generic guess.

What comes back is not a chat answer. It is structured diagnosis: ranked possible issues with likelihood, the evidence supporting each, an urgency level, a typical cost range, a safety assessment — including an explicit safe-to-drive verdict — and the questions worth asking the mechanic.

And deliberately: the AI proposes, a verified shop confirms. Fixxr never sells the diagnosis as the final word — it makes the driver informed enough that the shop’s diagnosis and price have to stand up to scrutiny.

What one diagnostic returns

  • Ranked likely causes, each with a likelihood and supporting evidence
  • Urgency per issue: immediate, soon, moderate, or low
  • A typical repair-cost range per issue
  • A safety assessment with an explicit safe-to-drive verdict
  • Questions to ask the mechanic, prepared for the driver
  • A confidence level, stated — never implied certainty

For shops

Built for the shops that win on merit

The marketplace only works if good shops want to be on it — so the shop side is built around validated work, not bought exposure.

Validated, pre-filled leads

Every lead arrives with the vehicle, VIN, service needed, timing window, and photos already attached — no forms to chase, no vague voicemails to return.

Estimate Builder

Shops quote in a structured builder — parts, labor, fees, tax — so drivers always compare like against like, and honest shops win on clarity.

Verified before live

Every shop is verified by Fixxr before it can take a single job. No pay-to-rank, no ad placements — matching is on fit, not on spend.

Pay only when you win

Joining is free, browsing leads is free, quoting is free. A shop pays only when a driver books its offer — incentives aligned with winning work, not buying exposure.

The moat

Data and trust, compounding

Federal data, live

Recalls and VIN decoding run on NHTSA's own databases — the authoritative source, not a stale mirror.

A proprietary vehicle graph

80,000+ configurations with explicit powertrain and body data through model year 2027 — the backbone that keeps diagnoses and quotes vehicle-specific.

An education layer AI cites

120+ free guides, trouble-code pages, and cost breakdowns, structured so both drivers and AI search engines can lift the answers — with Fixxr as the source.

Every repair completed on Fixxr makes the pricing data sharper, the matching smarter, and the next driver’s answer better. That loop — education earning trust, trust earning transactions, transactions earning data — is the platform.

You deserve a fair fix.
